Class description
Thursday 18:00-18:50 This Pilates class is for mixed abilities. However, If you are a complete beginner and have never practiced Pilates before, I recommend that you initially book my beginners class Tuesdays 10:45-11:30 in Marlborough. You can book as a pay and go (drop in) or a term plan, normally 6 or 7 weeks. Class plans are to encourage regular attendance, consistency and progression, the key elements for achieving results and personal goals. You also benefit from a 10% discount will all class plans. A varied repertoire both evolved and classical, along with movements and exercises inspired by Yoga, Feldenkrais, Kegel, Barre and Physiotherapy rehabilitation. Combining standing, kneeling, side lying, supine and front laying exercises. Working towards popular anatomical objectives such as spine health, core strength, muscle tone, hip and lower back stability, balance, posture and joint mobility. Modifications and differentiating levels will be offered to suit your personal needs. Hands on individual tactile cues accompanied with clear verbal breathing cues, respecting all of the principles of the Pilates method. My classes include small equipment to enhance your class experience. Props such as soft and spiky massage balls, blocks, resistant bands and hand weights are used to align, support and challenge you. It also keeps things fresh, varied and interesting. You will move through stretches, flow through sequences, hold poses, practice lifts and balance on wobbly balls. You will come away feeling toned, flexible, lengthened, balanced, improved mood and a deeper sense of wellbeing and happiness.
